Candidly, that's the reason I live a healthy lifestyle. I know that most of us believe science, medicine, and technology have "figured out" how to make us healthy, but they all have a long way to go. By living a healthy lifestyle, most people can avoid many diseases and the meds that are required for them.

The sad fact is that the majority of acute heart attacks are associated with "non-signicant" plaques. These plaques may suddenly rupture, which quickly leads to the formation of a blood clot. The blood clot acutely occludes the coronary artery, causing a heart attack.
So, depending on statins as opposed to proper diet and lifestyle is a false security blanket.
